Limitation of the Range
Sum of Squares (SS)
Tells the reader whether the accompanying average is a good or weak representation of the data.
The total sum of the squared deviations of individual scores from the mean.
Calculated as the maximum score plus 0.5, minus the minimum score minus 0.5.
The dependent variable must be measured on a continuous scale, such as interval or ratio.
A measurement scale that has decimal points between absolute numbers, requiring bars to touch in a histogram.
It only considers the two extreme data points, potentially providing a distorted picture of data spread.
Refers to how spread out individual scores are around the average in a dataset.
